Yancy Young, 33, was charged with murder and several weapons offenses, Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo J. Onofri said Monday.
The victim, Michael Degrasse Jr., was found with a gunshot wound to the abdomen outside Championship Bar as officers responded to the 900 block of Chambers Street in Trenton around 1 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 11, 2021, Onofri said.
Degrasse was taken to Capital Health Regional Medical Center and pronounced dead shortly after, authorities said.
Young, of Trenton, was served his complaints at the Mercer County Correction Center, where he was being held on unrelated charges. A motion has been filed to detain him pending trial.
The investigation was handled by the Mercer County Homicide Task Force and the Trenton Police Department.
